Birthday/Christmas Dinner
The Robertson Activity center will celebrate its December Birthdays and Christmas with a lunch on Thursday Dec. 16th. Lunch will be provide by the RAC (a $3.00 donation is appreciated), and will be served at 11:30 am. Desserts will be supplied by the Church of Yukon.
There will be a table decoration contest held prior to the lunch. All tables must be completed by 10:30 am. Prizes will be donated by the Yukon National Bank, so bring your best designs and have at it.
On the following day Friday Dec. 17th, members of the RAC will exchange gifts. We will play dirty Santa so bring a New wrapped gift(keep the gifts to $5.oo).

Birthday/ Thanksgiving Dinner
Remember that Birthday dinner is early this month! We'll be celebrating a week early so that everyone is free for the Thanksgiving Holiday! We hope to see you here this Thursday, Nov 18.
Senior Scoop
Five days a week (holidays excepted) you’ll hear the friendly hum of conversation, the click of dominoes. Come in, find a place at one of the tables and introduce yourself. You’re among friends at the Robertson Activity Center.
So what’s going on? Tap dancing, for one thing. You can sit around the house eating potato chips and watching old Shirley Temple movies, or you can come down to the Robertson Activity Center and do your own tap dancing with the Hot Heels Tap group. James Williams is the instructor and anyone can do it.
Williams is a professional dancer, formerly with the Oklahoma City Ballet. Now he’s at the Robertson Activity Center on Wednesdays at 1:30 p.m., teaching people to shuffle their feet around to a tap beat. According to Director Casey Barnett, it’s not a heavy-duty kind of thing. Most of the current dancers have tap shoes but any good hard-soled shoe will do.
Also on Wednesdays, there’s an Aerobics Class at 10:30, and Oil Painting at 1 P.M.
If tap dancing isn’t for you, you might want to join the Beginners Line Dance on Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
We’re into the holiday season now, and the Center will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 25, and Friday, Nov. 26. However, you can enjoy a combination Birthday/Thanksgiving Dinner with the group on Thursday, Nov. 18.
Don’t forget to sign up for a trip to the Kickapoo Casino on Nov. 30. Big Rob will leave the Center at 9:30 and return by 2 p.m. The casino will give us $27 in free play.
Our group from the Center had a great time at the Banjo Museum in Bricktown on Nov. 10. Along with a museum full of beautifully decorated banjos (you wouldn’t believe the artwork), Executive Director Johnny Baier entertained us with a concert that had hands clapping and toes tapping. Adding to the day’s enjoyment was lunch next door at Abuelo’s Mexican buffet.

Line Dance Class at Robertson Activity Center
We had Line Dance class this morning at the RAC, thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a great turn out. Everyone seemed to have fun! Its a great way to get exercise and listen to great music. Line Dance class is held every Friday from 10:30 to 11:30, so come join in on the fun next week!

Senior Scoop with Pat Browning
Take the bus and leave the driving to us. “Big Rob,” our Ford Starcraft bus, can be seen around town Mondays through Fridays. Big Rob gives seniors door-to-door service to the Robertson Activity Center, plus Friday trips to Wal-Mart, Target, Homeland -- your choice as long as it’s in Yukon. The fare is only $2. Add an extra dollar if you’re going on to Wal-Mart or other shopping spot.
Big Rob is a 14-passenger Ford Starcraft bus with retractable seat belts and a wheelchair lift. Every day after lunch Big Rob delivers seniors to their homes, wherever they may be. His theme song could be
the John Denver classic, “Country Roads, Take Me Home.” Darrell Janko is our ever-helpful bus driver.
Daily activities, such as the Quilters Club, Hot Heels Tap dancing, the Sign Language Club or Arm Chair Exercise, plus hearty luncheons, are the main attractions, but each month offers some special trips.
Wednesday, Nov. 10, it’s the American Banjo Museum in Bricktown. The museum contains more than 300 instruments, the largest collection on public display in the world. Examples include replicas of primitive banjos developed by African slaves in the Old South, Minstrel Age instruments from the 19th century, post WWII instruments used in bluegrass and folk music, and the museum’s core collection of ornately decorated banjos made in America during the Jazz Age of the 1920s and 1930s. Big Rob leaves the Robertson Activity Center at 10:30 a.m. Cost is $8 plus lunch.

If you really must stop to eat, the Redfork restaurant offers pizza and burgers or regular dinner fare. Bus cost is $6. Sign up soon, as those 14 seats go fast.
